About Our Beer

Meet Our Brewmaster

Jamie is from Lamar, SC and has been professionally brewing for five years. He began with home brewing in 2015 after receiving a homebrew kit from a friend, and from there his passion grew!

Jamie is a U.S. Navy Veteran, where he served as a Master-at-Arms (military police). While serving, Jamie obtained an Associates in Criminal Justic from Florence-Darlington Technical College and shortly after, a Bachelors in Sociology from Coker University. He began ‘beer’tending at Seminar Brewing in 2017 and after a three-month hiatus to hike across New Zealand… and drinking all of the beer they had to offer… began production at the brewery.

A year later, Jamie won several awards at the inaugural SC Brewers Guild Award ceremony. These medals consisted of seven golds, one silver and two bronze. He’s a Cicerone Certified Beer Server (CBS) with an aim to enhance the Sumter Original Brewery and has a specialized badge in traditional German-style and traditional English-style beer!
